Weather anomalies

Deviations of current climatic measurements from the long-term average of the current climate reference period 1991-2020. The graphic display allows for quick identification of positive or negative trends.

  • Precipitation (precipAnomalies): Measured monthly precipitation and (in brackets) the difference between the measured precipitation and the average monthly precipitation in the reference period.
  • Temperature (tempAnomalies): Measured monthly mean temperature and (in brackets) the difference between the measured temperature and the monthly mean in the reference period.

Representation

  • Precipitation: Bars (blue) above or below the zero line.
  • Temperature: Line (red) above or below the zero line.
  • Functions: Zoom in and out and shift the time section, export as PNG (selected period) and CSV (entire data set).

Climatic water balance

The climatic water balance is a measure of the water supply in an area, calculated as the difference between total precipitation and potential evapotranspiration (FAO56). It provides information about the availability of water for vegetation.

Representation

  • Mean value: Difference between the mean values of the monthly precipitation total and potential evapotranspiration.
  • Minimum/maximum value: Difference between the minimum and maximum values of the monthly precipitation total and potential evapotranspiration.
  • Standard deviation: +-1σ of the difference between the monthly precipitation total and potential evapotranspiration.
  • Annual progression of the current, last and penultimate year.
  • Functions: Export as PNG and CSV.
